Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This week we will have two town hall meetings on Tuesday, October 7th. The first meeting is in the morning at 10:30 AM and will conclude by Noon. The second meeting is scheduled for 7:00 PM in the evening and will conclude by 8:30 PM. Both meetings will cover the same material. I scheduled two separate meetings for the convenience of those who want a morning time and for those who can only come to an evening session.

The town hall meetings will be a twofold opportunity for you to hear what is happening in the parish and for you to speak about your concerns. I will give an overview of the state of the parish, introduce the annual financial report, identify some repair issues that are coming up, describe a remodeling and decorating project for the church, and begin to introduce an important parish resource, A Commitment Workbook and Guide. Afterwards, you will have a chance to offer your comments, raise questions, and make suggestions. As in the past, we will do this in two ways. Parishioners are invited to write out their comments. They can submit them beforehand or at the meeting itself. All written comments must have a signature, although you can request that your name be withheld in the public discussion. After we have reviewed the written comments, I will invite comments from the floor. Members of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee will be present at both meetings. They will be there to assist you in understanding the issues and projects that will be in discussion. They will also make sure that there is follow-up to your comments and observations. Finally, if we find that there is too much to cover in an hour and a half, we will schedule additional meetings, so that we can do justice to all the issues and concerns.

I urge you to make every effort possible to attend one of these town hall meetings, so that we, the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee and I, can get as accurate a reading of the parish as possible.
